Ranch near the City of Aubrey
With development rapidly occurring in northeast Denton County, this 120-acre property near the City of Aubrey is now permanently preserved thanks to a conservation easement from a landowner. The landowner donated the easement to UTCT to honor her family legacy who has owned the land since 1895. The property contains a mix of pastureland and wooded areas, and a tributary of Pecan Creek which flows directly into Lewisville Lake, a major drinking water source for hundreds of thousands of North Texans. This protected property will continue to capture and filter rainwater before ultimately draining into Lewisville Lake just 5 miles to the south. The property also provides a refuge and habitat for birds, white-tailed deer, and other wildlife species. (Easement transaction completed in 2025.)

Floodplain in the City of Grand Prairie
